Funday Friday with City of Sanctuary starts Friday 3 September 2021, 4 – 5pm

We are delighted to be hosting Funday Friday in partnership with City of Sanctuary, a charity that supports towns and cities to be places of welcome for people seeking sanctuary. Funday Friday is a cafe style online social space to keep people seeking sanctuary (and those supporting them) connected across the UK.

Every Friday since March 2020, City of Sanctuary has been running ‘Funday Friday’ which began as an immediate response to the lockdown and the need to provide a safe space for people to meet, socialise, improve their English, have conversation and have some fun in the midst of the pandemic. You can find out more Funday Friday here.

The lockdown revealed not only the power of keeping connected online, but the lack of access to mobile data for people seeking sanctuary. Together with City of Sanctuary we are offering free sim cards for those seeking sanctuary who wish to take part.

We are grateful for the support of the National Lottery Community Fund.

Each Funday Friday (4 – 5pm) will focus on something different: from storytelling around the virtual campfire, to an online karaoke night, from games night, to paper crafts, Funday Friday promises to be lots of fun!

There is a launch party on Friday 3rd September for anyone who wants to come along and find out more.

To take part in Funday Friday please register here. Once you’ve registered you’ll receive a welcome email and Zoom link, and a reminder each week with the Zoom log in details.
